Decrease in happiness
Sex is part mental but physical, and when two people create a sexual connection it helps to increase the feel-good hormone oxytocin, which in turn helps to release tension, stress, and anxiety.
Regular sex is perfectly normal and truly does help to lifts people’s spirit and overall confidence, therefore, when you stop having sex all of a sudden, you can become prone to feeling low and ‘under the weather’.
Decrease in lubrication
For women who are going through menopause, without intercourse, the vagina can tighten and the tissue can become thinner meaning more chance of injury and pain which can result in total discomfort.
As your body is already undergoing a massive change with menopause, having regular sex can help with vaginal dryness and irritation.
Weakened Immune System
As much as having sex can be lot’s of fun, it’s also super important for building a healthy immune system! When you stop having sex, you stop allowing your body to fight off illnesses such as colds and flu.
If you’re in a relationship when you stop having the sex you are essentially closing the door on intimacy and running the risk of destroying the relationship. You need to consider all factors such as physical intimacy and emotional intimacy – you cannot have one without the other and expect it to be long-lasting, so sexual connection is a huge and if not the most important aspect to consider when it comes to a romantic relationship.
